OVERVIEW

Rachel is an accredited leadership coach, mentor and business adviser to senior executives and Boards. An Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), she works across the spectrum from pure coaching to mentoring and strategic consultancy. Her clients span public, private, academic and not-for-profit sectors, both in the UK and internationally.

APPROACH

Rachel’s private coaching practice focuses primarily on C-suite and executive leaders. As a former CEO and current Non-Executive Director, she brings a deep understanding of the challenges of executive leadership and governance, informed by first-hand experience on both sides of the Board table. Her coaching is grounded in practical insight into leading in a digital world - navigating ambiguity, complexity and constant change - with an emphasis on clarity, adaptability and purpose. She is a longstanding advocate for diversity and inclusion as key enablers of high-performing organisations.

CAREER

Rachel’s career spans the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in the UK and internationally. She has worked in large, complex organisations including the EU and as a senior civil servant in the UK. She is a former CEO, and was the first Digital Head of Profession and Chief Digital Officer at the Department of Health. Rachel is a Governor of Birkbeck, University of London, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee for TPXimpact plc, an advisor to Digital Health.London, a former Chair and Board member of Digital Leaders, and a former Board member of the Academy of Social Science’s Campaign for Social Science. She is also a High-risk Assurance Reviewer for the UK Government’s National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority, and holds several leadership development and advisory roles including Faculty member at Holos Change, and Lecturer and mentor at the Public School of Technology.

Rachel is a frequent speaker at UK and international conferences, has appeared regularly before parliamentary Select Committees, is a frequent judge of digital awards, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA). In 2025 she was inducted into Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in IT Hall of Fame.

Rachel has over 20 years’ experience of coaching and mentoring in a range of settings and sectors. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

PERSONAL

Rachel is married to Tom, a lawyer turned playwright. She has two grown-up stepchildren, two delightful grandsons and a much-loved dog, Maisie. Rachel, Tom and Maisie divide their time between north London and Suffolk.
